During the National Council of University Students, a first motion concerning the destination of Covid vaccine doses was approved.
This first motion was followed by a second motion on the same subject.
The National Council of University Students calls on the Covid vaccine to:
- to take due account of the position of medical students engaged in internship activities, as employees to all intents and purposes of the healthcare facilities where they are employed. This for the purposes of defining the recipients of the vaccine;
- identify, where it is not possible to administer the vaccine to this category, the possible methods of access to healthcare facilities for trainees. This should be carried out in conditions of complete safety, with the latter being provided with the necessary PPE;
- identifying, in any event, the most appropriate measures so that the possible impossibility of carrying out traineeship activities, due to epidemiological developments, does not jeopardise the normal career path;
- define, in any case, the order of priority of trainees in planning the administration of future doses.
We believe that education and university should be given a central role, recognising the importance of face-to-face activity. In fact, we think that leaving the choice to the student is a sign of respect. But allowing attendance is a sign of consideration for the youngest, who have chosen to train. So we hope that the right importance is given to our training, young citizens.
